I am torn between two allegiance today:

  1. I thoroughly enjoy the position I currently hold – the District Chair – Education and Development Committee.

·         I oversee the activities of 25 Certified Instructors who throughout the year, conduct training classes like

o       PEPC for incoming President-elects,

o       CLE for incoming club officers,

o       MKS – for club membership committees and chairs and

o       Midwinter Convention and the

o       District Convention each year.

·        In addition, I enjoy the opportunity to conduct several of these session myself, working with and learning to know many of the Kiwanians throughout the Capital District.

·        I would venture to say that I have had many of you in this room in one of my classes.

  1. The Reshaping of our District is a major milestone in the Capital District.

·         This is going to be a challenging and perhaps one of the most difficult years for our District.

o       Not everyone is sold on this concept, so I think that the leaders of this District are going to have to prove to everyone that this is not a mistake, that this is the way of the future, and that with the right people, and a little hard work and positive and effective consulting  this District will succeed

o     I can bring to the table, my experience as a leader, trainer and an involved Kiwanian that will help make this District become a very outstanding District.

·        As trustee, I will work with our three Division LTG’s to make our region the best region in the District.

o       We are not too large to be able to bring all three divisions together and build upon each other’s strengths, to overcome our deficiencies and make others want to join our Kiwanis Clubs.

o       Come join me in this journey – support your club, your division, and your region to make Kiwanis something others cannot wait to join and reap the benefits we all enjoy.

Thank you for your time listening to me talk about Kiwanis.  Something I thoroughly enjoy.
